Founder - Michael Butler
Our founder, Michael, has had a love for fishing since he was a little boy in Central Texas with his family and friends, and those memories have stuck with him ever since. When he started Katstik, he wanted to share that love and passion with others and create a community of fellow fishing enthusiasts.
One day while using the typical flaky noodle for catfishing he saw the noodle dive down at one end and the fish got away. In that moment he remembered his beloved mentor's dying words, "KEEP YOUR TIP UP!"
The distribution of upward force by the floatation devices in relation to the downward pull of the fish line was less than optimal. In fact, the majority of the float has no use at all. Then when a fish did hook up it was able to pull it all over the place, making it very difficult to find. "No wonder there are so many old nasty noodles all over the lakes littering up the scenery," he thought to himself.
Thus, the birth of the original KATSTIK.
